Welcome to the website for the challenge to have the world's highest formal dinner ! I am proud to say that we have achieved our very silly goal. We have held the world's highest dinner party at 6805 metres, on the side of Lhakpa Ri, Tibet. You can read more about our adventure in our newsletters or in the press section. Whilst gallivanting in the mountains we also managed to raise over £30,000 for charity. Something we are immensely proud of. Thanks to everyone who
supported us. |

The flight out was great but long (and thank you Qatar for the extra baggage allowance). We have had a full run through and the whole dinner looks great. The next step is to Lhasa, Tibet, where we will acclimatize for a few days. Then onward and upward to dinner. Our next contact will be May 8th when we will come down and tell you whether we made it ! Tom has also recently been playing the scientist..... "In an experiment this evening, under laboratory controlled conditions, the table has been erected at -26 degrees centigrade!! I have just spent a very pleasant evening at a mate's house (who has a chest freezer). The table and my altitude watch were placed in the freezer which was turned up to maximum and the "booster" switched on. We all then ate dinner and went to the pub for two hours. On returning (and donning gloves), the watch was first removed which read -26 and (Nakul will be pleased by this) still worked! Very quickly, the legs were taken out and the lid shut ... the legs worked!! The cross slats were then removed and they worked too. Then ..... the big test! The top sections were removed and the plastic clips fitted to the table frame ..... IT WORKED! On later inspection, one of the many clips showed a fracture line but was (and is) still viable. Given that only 1 of 12 clips showed any signs of fracture at -26 I think we can call it a successful test - coool!! Tom B"
