This website is for people who suspect they have or have been recently diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. (If you are a chronic sufferer of Sarcoidosis please use the links page to find a site more useful to you).

The aim of this website is to act as a sabre to the many scary Sarcoid websites out there. Sarcoid can be put into permanent remission - much more so than the internet would have you believe. The internet exaggerates because those in remission tend to go away and get on with their lives and those in pain, understandably, often vent their anger into the chat rooms, and onto the websites, that any Sarcoid search brings up.

When I was first diagnosed, I used the internet to try and learn more and scared myself silly. I hope this website will stop you being so scared.

I was diagnosed in November 2002 at the age of 28. I went on a course of prednisone and haven’t suffered from Sarcoidosis since. I'm now 34. I have some scarring in my lungs but not enough to stop me climbing one of the world’s highest mountains. In doing that I raised money for Sarcoidosis Research and have now commissioned, with the British Lung Foundation, research by Oxford University into the effect on genetics on Sarcoidosis.

If you would like to learn more about my experience with Sarcoid you can click here.

In addition, I have put together some general information on the disease. You can click here for that.

Lastly, I know how lonely it can be when you are first diagnosed. If you want someone to talk to I am happy to take your emails and arrange a telephone call if you want. Please click here for my contact details.

Best wishes
